Actor JAMES CAAN will return for the first episode of the next season of US TV show Las Vegas. The 67-year-old star recently announced his decision to quit the drama when the current fourth season ends, but he will now be back for the fifth. In other Las Vegas news, Tom Selleck has confirmed he will fill the void left by Caan on the show - as a casino owner character.

TOM SELLECK is in negotiations to return to TV as JAMES CAAN's replacement in hit drama LAS VEGAS. The former Magnum, P.I. star is in talks to play a casino owner on the show. His character is designed to fill the void left by the departure of Caan, who recently announced he wouldn't be returning for a new season of the show earlier this year (07). Josh Duhamel and model/actress Molly Sims are expected to return for the fifth season of the show.

JAMES CAAN is leaving LAS VEGAS after announcing he won't be a part of the fifth season of the hit US TV drama. The movie icon and co-star NIKKI COX will not feature in the upcoming season of Las Vegas when it starts later this year, according to trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter. Caan, who played a surveillance boss in a Sin City casino, insists he wants to spend more time making movies. In a statement he says, "I'm eager to return to where my heart is, which is film, and, due to the show's schedule, I missed some great opportunities to do that."

Meanwhile, Mary (Nikki Cox) is responsible for selling the last residential suite and she hopes to entice big money with a special performance by John Legend (guest star as himself). Mary (Nikki Cox) and Sam (Vanessa Marcil) cannot come to an understanding of which guests are more important and fight for OK Go’s (musical guest star) time to woo the VIPs. Molly Sims also stars.
